AxonIQ is hiring multiple Philadelphia based Senior Java Engineers. At AxonIQ you will be working closely with and learning from some of the most prominent people in the Java EE, Spring, Open Source and DDD ecosystems.
AxonIQ is the company behind the Axon Platform. The core of the platform is the mature and popular Open Source Axon Framework - a powerful Java library for building event-driven microservices based on DDD, CQRS and Event Sourcing. The Axon Platform also includes AxonDB - a highly specialized event store as well as AxonHub - an intelligent message router with intrinsic support for CQRS and Event Sourcing. The Axon Platform is a leading solution in its space. The Axon Platform works with Java SE, Spring Boot, the Spring Framework, Java EE, relational databases, MongoDB, AMQP, Spring Cloud, Kafka, Docker and Kubernetes.
AxonIQ provides commercial licensing, support and consulting for the Axon Platform. AxonIQ is based in The Netherlands but is rapidly establishing a US presence based in Philadelphia.
What You Will Be Doing
You will be a customer facing Senior Java Engineer working on a day-to-day basis with AxonIQ customers on support and consulting contracts. Our customers are working on complex problems in the financial, healthcare, logistics and gaming industries using the latest technologies. Most customers will be developing containerized orchestrated microservices in the cloud using CI/CD.
You are also expected to periodically contribute bug fixes, enhancements and documentation for the Axon Platform. You will be highly encouraged to be active in the Java community through forums, blogging and/or speaking.
You will be based out of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. You may be working on-site with customers in the area, remotely with customers across the US or travelling to major US metropolitans for extended periods of time. Depending on the customer you are working with, extensive travel may not be necessary. However, the ideal candidate should be enthusiastic about the opportunity to be a road warrior when needed.
Who You Should Be
We are looking for outstanding engineers that can excel working with complex concepts like DDD, CQRS, Event Sourcing and event driven microservices. Opportunities to work on globally significant Open Source infrastructure is demanding work that is also rare. Such opportunities in the greater Philadelphia area is rarer still. You should have:
- Between five and ten years of experience working with Java SE, Spring or Java EE. Your caliber as an engineer is more important than simply years of experience or previous job titles. If you feel you are otherwise a good fit, it may be acceptable to have less than five years of experience.
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with a strong theoretical and academic foundation. Typically you will have a graduating GPA in the range of 3.75-4.0/4.0
- Prior knowledge of Axon is helpful, but not expected.
- Prior knowledge of DDD, CQRS, Event Sourcing, MongoDB, AMQP, Spring Cloud, Kafka, Docker and Kubernetes is helpful but not required.
- US citizenship or permanent residence (Green Card). Unfortunately we are currently unable to provide any form of visa sponsorship.
What Does it Pay?
