Nous sommes heureux de vous inviter à notre premier MeetUp avec notre client Ask Locala (précédemment connu sous le nom S4M). Après 2 ans de développement, plus de 28 itérations impliquant plus de 25 personnes et 3 projets event-sourcés, Ask Locala est à quelques jours de lancer son nouveau produit.

Laurent Thoulon, Senior Lead Engineer chez Ask Locala (anciennement S4M), va vous raconter leur voyage dans le monde de l'event sourcing équipés de CQRS, de DDD, d'event modeling et autres outils dans le but de garantir l'évolutivité, la maintenabilité, la scalabilité et l'auditabilité de leur nouvelle plateforme sur le long terme.
Il expliquera ce qui a motivé leur choix, l'organisation que cela a nécessité et bien évidemment les défis techniques qu'ils ont rencontrés tout en partageant son ressenti sur le fait de travailler au jour le jour avec ces technologies.

Durant ce meeting, Allard va vous embarquer dans l'aventure que constitue l'implémentation d'un système Event-Driven typique en utilisant les principes du Command Query Responsibility Separation (CQRS) et de l’Event Sourcing (ES). Nous commencerons avec un peu d’historique et de fondamentaux en la matière. Quel est l’objectif du CQRS et de Event Sourcing?
Nous nous pencherons sur les challenges liés aux systèmes distribués, et en particulier ceux event-driven. Et pour finir, nous passerons de la théorie à la pratique avec une démo live.

Allard Buijze - CTO at AxonIQ

Allard Buijze is the founder and chief technology officer at AxonIQ, a microservices communication platform for building event-driven, distributed applications, where he helps customers reach appropriate future-proof technical decisions. A former software architect within the fields of scalability and performance, he has worked on several projects where performance is often a recurring theme. Allard is convinced that a good domain model is the beginning of contributing to the overall performance of an application and developed the Axon Framework out of this conviction.

Laurent Thoulon  - Senior Lead Engineer at Ask Locala 

Laurent Thoulon is a Senior Lead Engineer at Ask Locala . He works on the development of the company's products and is making sure the whole system is coherent both technically and business-wise. He started in his early days as a PHP developer but was quickly led to switch to Java to work on very high performance backend servers for real time bidding. Performance, maintainability and quality have always been at the heart of his work. He started working with event sourcing in 2017 and since then is really putting forward the importance of well defined responsibilities and loose coupling to achieve long term evolvability.
